On November 21-22, as organized by China Association of Women Entrepreneurs jointly with the National School of Development, Peking University and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the 2018 International Summit of Women Entrepreneurs was held in Guangzhou. Li Xin, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Deng Li, member of the CPC Committee of the All-China Women's Federation, Lin Yi, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Zhu Hongren, executive vice chairman and president of China Enterprise Directors Association, and Maya Morsy, President of the National Council for Women of Egypt attended the summit and delivered keynote speeches. Mei Hing Chak, Vice Chairman of China Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Chairman of Guangdong Women Entrepreneurs Association and President of Heung Kong Group attended the summit and delivered a speech. 

Under the theme of “Innovation and Empowerment, Open and Compatible - ‘she’ can win the future”, the summit aims to focus on opportunities and challenges faced in sectors such as intelligence, green economy and big health, share development experiences which have helped accomplishment of “her economy”, discuss development ideas, modes and ways in a new economy cycle, and help women entrepreneurs to expand their global perspectives, seize economic development trends, enhance learning from each other and unite wisdoms to find a new development way for achieving win-win cooperation. Nearly 500 persons attended the summit, including excellent women entrepreneurs and famous scholars from across China as well as over 70 entrepreneurs and principals of government agencies from 18 countries and regions.

At the summit, Mei Hing Chak, Vice Chairman of China Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Chairman of Guangdong Women Entrepreneurs Association and President of Heung Kong Group released the Guangzhou Initiative on behalf of all Chinese women entrepreneurs attending the summit.

In the Guangzhou Initiative, Mei Hing Chak said, the socialism with Chinese characteristics is now in a new stage where China’s economy has transformed from high speed growth to high quality development, and this brings more opportunities for women entrepreneurs to achieve comprehensive development, but there are also challenges, more efforts are required to promote spirits of excellent entrepreneurs, make full use of demonstration effects of excellent entrepreneurs and facilitate ongoing development and growth of Chinese enterprises and Chinese economy in general.  According to Mei Hing Chak, women entrepreneurs should reinforce their senses of the times, mission and responsibility. They should always stay true to their missions and uphold the reform undertaking, making greater contributions to push forward sustainable and healthy development of economy and society and to realize the dream of China renaissance.
